From the historic shores of Bristol Ferry, adirondack chairs invite a quiet pause beneath one of Rhode Island’s most iconic landmarks. Beyond them, the graceful towers of the Mount Hope Bridge rise above Narragansett Bay, linking Bristol and Portsmouth just as they have since replacing the old ferry crossing in 1929. As the sun slips below the horizon, the sky erupts in brilliant washes of crimson, amber, violet, and gold, bathing the bridge and water in a fleeting glow. The expansive evening light transforms a familiar coastal vista into something almost cinematic, while the empty chairs suggest an open invitation to linger just a little longer.
